How it started:  

The sole purpose of establishing the Dental consultancy centre was to provide the best possible oral health care to serve citizens. It is within easy reach and strategically located at Kigali Health Institute, Avenue de l’Armee, which is approximately 5 minutes drive away from the main city of Kigali-Rwanda. The KHI, modern consultancy centre features the state-of-the-art dental facilities that are suitable for advancing quality clinical training, continuing professional skill development, clinical research and oral health care services to citizens from all walks of life.

About the Center
Oral care is patient focused and the team of dedicated staff is committed to providing holistic, quality care through interdisciplinary measures by the:

• Dental Staff- who are well experienced, qualified and competent to ensure effective and efficient running of the centre.

• Clinical supervisors and Dental therapists- whose roles are to ensure that there’s effective delivery of quality services to the patients.

• Dental Nurse-Who are trained to give nursing care that is tailored according to the individual needs of the patient at all times.

Ambulance facility is available for emergency and maxillofacial-surgical cases. In addition to attending to our specialized services, our patients, their families and other members of the public may benefit from treatment planning advice, and shared care by specialists’ guidance from other fields like physiotherapy, medical laboratory, nursing and medical imaging sciences at KHI. Our aim is that dental/medical specialists from the various faculties and Institutions should come together under one single roof and join hands to provide a healing touch to our clients on a 24 hour basis.

Health Insurance and corporate organization packages
The Center offers a wide range of dental packages to cater for individual, Medical Insurance and corporate needs. Center works with;

• KHI-Students Health Insurance (KHI-SHI)

• AAR and

• CORAR insurance schemes.

Insured clients will have priority access to all the services plus the benefits of specialized promotion, customized practice management solution, priority response time on every visit to our practice as long as they will have been duly authorized by their Insurers. In operation now are specific operational guidelines applicable to the Medical Insurance and Corporate Accounts agreed on and effected to the Consultancy’s management.
Social Entrepreneurship:    KHI-DCC is a center that encourages entrepreneurship and inventiveness, Innovative solutions, new approaches and Passion Commitment. KHI focuses and intend to help professional staff to identify what they can do to enhance awareness of existing programs and perceptions, and to fill gaps in current practices in order to develop a more coherent and pervasive institutional climate suitable for educating oral health professionals for personal and social responsibility.

• Day care surgery- is booked and done on that day; follow up care and essential back-up service is done as promptly as possible.

• We give care for conditions requiring regular follow-up.

• We promptly handle clinical and non-clinical oral health concerns.

• We offer free continuous dental education on preventive care and counseling.
