The Bachelor of Dental Therapy program
Is intended to train life long oral health learners, equipped with necessary hands-on experience/practical skills-curiosity-driven and task oriented personnel.
The Bachelor’s of Dental Therapy (BDT) program in the Faculty of Allied of Health Sciences is a 4 year program with students entering through Direct and Mature age entrance. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate earns a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Therapy with Honours (BDT with Honours). This program provides the students with in dental sciences, research, teaching and management

Admission requirements to BDT program
(i) Direct entry

  • Is subjected to the faculty special regulations
  • Candidates with secondary school certificates issued and accredited by Rwanda National examination council (RNEC) or its equivalent with principal passes/credits in Biology, Physics and chemistry are eligible

Mature entry
Admissions of candidates to the BDT programme under this scheme are required to have:

  • Completed Junior secondary school or “O-level” and “A” level with credits in “Biology, Physics and chemistry”.
  • Made a formal application.
  • Passed mature entry examinations (written and oral by at least 50%).
