Admission Requirement
The admission to the advanced diploma in the Mental Health program is through direct entry scheme and through mature entrance examination for those who have been working. The candidate must meet all the requirements of the Rwandan National Examination Council and fulfill the admission criteria of KHI. The department admits candidates who have completed and passed secondary school in the sections of A2 Nurses or equivalent and biology/chemistry
Program Structure and courses
The training curriculum is module-based and follows the principle of learner- centred and teaching methodology, whereby 1/3 of the total hours of the module is devoted to face to face contact teaching with the lecturer, while 2/3 are for self-directed-learning and practical exercises.
The duration of the program is 3 years full time and the total number of credits covered is 360 credits, whereby one credit is equivalent to 10 hours of learning effort.
