MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS PLEDGED TO FUND RWANDAN RESEARCHERS
The pledge was made yesterday when KHI during the launching ceremony of the research projects done by its academic staff under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education.
The Director General of Science, Technology and Research in the ministry said that MINEDUC is encouraging academicians in higher learning institutions and other persons to embark in research activities aimed at uplifting Rwanda's socio-economic and political development.
In a bid to support researchers who may be constrained by the financial capabilities, the ministry through the directorate of science, technology and research has established Rwanda Innovation Endowment Fund that will support the best research projects.
Dr. Christine GASINZIGWA commended KHI for the milestones they have realized in promoting research culture. She encouraged the KHI staff and any other person interested in carrying out research to approach the ministry because there are funds once they present a qualitative project.
Among the researches whose preliminary results were presented include:
Prevalence of Peripheral neuropathy and effects of physiotherapeutic neuropathy among people living with HIV on ART in Rwanda by David KABAGEMA Tumusiime
Survey of spinal deformities in secondary school children in Rwanda by Jeanne KAGWIZA
Feasibility study of rain water harvesting system by roof catchment in Rwanda by Amans NTAKARUTIMANA.
