A group of 12 students from the University of Western Ontario (UWO), Canada, visited Rwanda from May 15 th to June 12 th , 2010. The group was led by Prof. Henri Boyi from the Department of French Studies, UWO. These students came to Rwanda within the context of an interdisciplinary course offered by the University of Western, through the Department of French Studies, and called “Experiential Learning”, Fre 31200B, an essential part of this course being “Service Learning in Rwanda”. The objectives of this part of the course were:

•  To contribute to community development projects in the areas of health care, child welfare and women's rights

•  To expand the on-going education partnerships between KHI and the University of Western Ontario.
