PLANNED ACTIVITIES 2008-2010
•Extension of skills lab to anaesthesia, dentistry, Imaging sciences, Physiotherapy, Bio-medical laboratory sciences, Ophthalmology, Mental health, and Environmental health sciences.
• Purchase teaching materials, manikins, audio-visual teaching aids, cd-roms, computers, books in above departments.
•Develop checklists and manuals for anaesthesia, dentistry, Imaging sciences, Physiotherapy, Bio-medical laboratory sciences, Ophthalmology, Mental health, and Environmental health sciences procedures.
•Train internal and external teachers of the above departments to be committed to the implementation and promotion of the skillslab methodology.
•Sensitize students of the above departments for the use of the skillslab methodology.
•Develop the OSCE for the above departments.
•Improve the quality of supervision of students on clinical placements by training clinical instructors and nurses in the teaching hospitals.
• Attend study visits and conferences.
• Introduce the skillslab in continuing education (in-service training).
